The
Pilar Society, Goa has been awarded the Deptford (SE London) Parish.
Occupancy is expected to be in Oct. this year. Fr Joe Rodrigues
will be the Parish Priest. This will usher in a new era of Community
provision.
Fr
Rufus Pereira has an international healing and deliverance ministry.
He travels all over the world giving retreats to bishops, priests
and lay people. He is also known for his powerful bible exposition.
He has been involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal since the
early days in India and set up the Catholic Bible College in Bombay
. He will be featured at Walsingham.
Des
D'Souza, Marketing Manager of AgrEvo, a Biotechnology firm, has
been the centre of media attention here all week after Lord Melchett,
head of Greenpeace led protesters on a destructive mission of
a field where genetically modified (GM) corn was being tested.
Des has been on the front page of the major newspapers and the
TV and radio stations. He was born in Nairobi, the son of Alfred
D'Souza. who was prominent providing Community support to others
in the UK and particularly active in Mapusa Assoc. Des was brought
up in Finchley, London and attended Bath University. He has been
the lone voice in defence of GM foods and has accredited himself
well.
