Oct. BBC Online. Interview with Kevin Greening (BBC Radio 1 DJ)
I was recently doing some pieces for the Travel Channel, in Goa.
India was poor, hot and happy. I was truly blown away by how absolute
the poverty is. Beyond the tourist hotels the whole country seems
to be teetering on the edge of collapse. Everything is so precarious,
and everyone ekes a living in any way they can. I enjoyed myself,
but I almost felt ashamed of it because I was put up in a luxury
hotel and everything was laid on for me. What beggars belief is
that the people - who have every reason to despise Westerners,
and the British and Portuguese in particular - have nothing but
respect and really disarming inquisitiveness. I realise more than
ever that India is typical of planet Earth. We in the west actually
live in the penthouse suite at the top.

Oct. The Telegraph. Fish is fashionable. For a new generation,
the word "fish" is no longer automatically followed
by the words "and chips" or "fingers". It
is more likely to conjure up pungent associations with green Goan
curry, slow-simmering risotto or chargrilled brochettes.
