Fosters Ltd has announced the launch of Fosters beer in Goa.

From Frederick Noronha (fred@goa1.dot.net.in) Excerpts from report on the Overseas Young Goans meeting in Goa:
"Younger Goans (abroad) are more professional. The second-generation is much more white-collar, and there are a number of Goan events regularly held in London," comments Nairobi-born Alric Lobo (35), an associate director with Barclays Capital, UK. …"We are pretty much settled (in Kenya). We have a fairly good life there, and don't have to rush around. In places like England, one has to keep rushing" says Cynthia Correia. *The Independent 18-Dec. Sex and drugs and rock'n' roll - such things seem odd in the context of a deeply moral part of the world like southern India. Yet for some tourists, these pleasures are the main attractions of Goa, Portugal's fragment of the subcontinent… 1128 words

*The Birmingham Post 18-Dec. …The following are ideas for dishes with non-Christmassy flavours which might tempt the jaded palate. The first, a Goan style curry. Eaten by the Christians of Goa at Christmas, it can be made well in advance and kept in the fridge for up to three days or even frozen. GOAN SORPOTEL (Recipe included). 1810 words

The Independent 1 Jan. …The loudest and most heartfelt were almost certainly in Goa, India's party capital. Goa's biggest beach party - planned to last 12 days and nights, spanning the new year - was stopped in its tracks last week by a high court ruling when a local journalist pointed out that the organisers had enclosed a large patch of state-owned land. But Goa, on India's west coast, had plenty of other parties to choose from, all boasting golden sands, starry skies, balmy temperatures and free
entry…

*The Herald (UK) 8 Jan. Travel article - Family holiday at the D'Souza Guest House, Goa. 959 words

*Independent 10 Jan. 1. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown: British Asians are the only people who should not be surprised (although some will feign outrage) about this latest evidence showing increasing drug use among their young. 627 words
