service and other facilities for the UK Goan Community. If you

The
hearing of the gang-rape case of British national Joleen Sketchley,
came up on July 4 in Panjim and it was decided to proceed with
the trial. The case was adjourned to July 23.

THE
two mobile telephone operators in Goa, Birla-Tata-AT&T and
BPL announced last week that they are to merge.
Following
representations made by Sunila Muzawar of Goanet, all schools

Rights in Goa (CRG) has condemned Mapusa Municipal Council workers
who beat boys and girls selling plastic bags in the market and
then stripped them of their clothes and locked them up for almost

Cuncolim Municipal Council Library, which was inaugurated by MLA

Jun. India Business Insight. Nettlinx of Hyderabad plans to introduce
ePOST, an e-mail facility by post for those who have no Internet
connectivity. It intends to launch the service on a pilot basis
in Goa and 4 other Indian States by the end of Jul 2001.

Jun. Evening Herald (Plymouth). Retired ambulanceman Colin Russell
and his wife, Susan, took an electronic resuscitation dummy to
Goa as many people drown needlessly in Goa's seas each year. Colin
helped train Goa's Lions, doctors and nurses in simple resuscitation
techniques, and lectured 2,500 local schoolchildren in one week.
He also initiated a scheme for lifebelts to be sponsored by beach

NZ man, reported him to the Police. Yet another NZ man, Eoghan
McBride is in the Goa prison awaiting trial for a similar offence.
