As reported last week, tension was high in Benaulim. On May 28 hundreds of parishioners dragged 80-year-old Fr Antao from his office to the Church Square where they surrounded and harangued him for two hours before the Police came to his rescue. 26 May Times of India. A sex scandal said to involve sons of prominent Goa politicians is being investigated. The culprits, who run a cyber-cafe, offered college students concessional rates to browse the Web and later offered soft drinks laced with a sleep-inducing drug. Once they were drowsy, the victims were dragged into a room, undressed and photographed. 29 May. BBC. Edgar Fernandes' Victim's family pin hopes on extradition. Edgar's sister Genny, told the BBC that she had been informed that the Maltese authorities had received an assurance from the Turks that the murder suspect would not be executed if found guilty of murder.
