Vaz resigned his appointment as Minister for Europe because of
ill health after being hounded by the media. The Sun, on 12 June
commented, " Mr Vaz had infuriated Asians and blacks when he claimed
complaints about his links to tycoons, including the Hinduja brothers,
were racist." I wonder who voted him in.

Dr Wilfred
de Souza, the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (Goa),
has flayed the decision of Chief Minister Parrikar to send the
legislators on trips to neighbouring countries under the guise
of exposing them to developmental activities there.
A working
group on tourism has agreed in principle to set up a golf course
in Goa. The Chief Secretary claimed that Goa did not have any
water or electricity shortage.

grandmother from the Westcountry has already rescued more than
100 street children from the slums of Goa. She has now set up
two children's relief centres in the earthquake-hit state of Gujarat.
It was five years ago while she was on holiday with her daughter
in Goa that she met a local pastor and set up the El Shaddai.
