Keith Vaz resigned his appointment as Minister for Europe because of ill health after being hounded by the media. The Sun, on 12 June commented, " Mr Vaz had infuriated Asians and blacks when he claimed complaints about his links to tycoons, including the Hinduja brothers, were racist." I wonder who voted him in.

Henry Castellino is participating in his third London to Brighton bike ride, on 17 June, in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Sponsorship pledges to Henry_Castellino@computacenter.com ASAP please.

Dr Wilfred de Souza, the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (Goa), has flayed the decision of Chief Minister Parrikar to send the legislators on trips to neighbouring countries under the guise of exposing them to developmental activities there.

A working group on tourism has agreed in principle to set up a golf course in Goa. The Chief Secretary claimed that Goa did not have any water or electricity shortage.
