A
question asked was: Do you forward the newsletter regularly
to others? If so, number of people you forward it to by e-mail?
… Printed version? …
Some
of the 95 respondents replied in the affirmative without indicating
the numbers. Of those that quantified their help with the distribution,
it was forwarded to 108 people by e-mail and 58 in printed form
(If one individual's contribution of printing 20 copies is to
be believed!).
Some
of those who get the newsletter forwarded to them pass it on to
others and they pass it on … There is the obvious danger that
the world might get engulfed with this newsletter! Seriously though,
I am very satisfied with your enthusiasm. Many of you have assured
me that all your friends get it one way or another. So I can sit
back at least as far as publicising the resource is concerned.
Perhaps I ought to change the name of this newsletter to the Goan
Bush Telegraph!

Jun. Times of India 15 Since fishing in the sea is prohibited
during monsoon, the prices of fish and other seafood have gone
up considerably. Mackerel was being sold at Rs 7 each in fish
markets. 12 May The Guardian "In the [tourist] season the hotels
buy up all the fish. Consequently there is over-fishing. The only
time Goans get to eat fish is when the rains come."

Jun. The Independent. 50 best beaches in the World. Arambol, Goa.
Much of Goa's coastline has been ruined by development, but here
the locals have so far resisted proposals for a major resort though
there are rumours that a golf course and hotel are being planned.
But for now, tourism is low-key: You can hire a hut on the headland
or in the woods. Arambol's main beach is attractive, but there
is an even prettier one just to the north. Follow the headlands
north until you get to Querim beach, perhaps the most idyllic
of the lot.

Jun. The Herald (Scotland). Therapist Marie Sommerville interviewed.
She was told by her doctor she would never have children and "set
off with husband Brian on the obligatory world tour" While in
a village in Goa, she was treated by a woman who said her version
of reflexology could cure infertility. Sommerville's daughter
was born a year later. Stunned by the results, she became determined
to teach what she had learned. She now runs an infertility treatment
clinic in Glasgow. 327 words
