Warren Noronha's recent London fashion show was selected as the Editor's choice of Vogue and can be seen at: http://www.style.com/fashionshows/collections/F2002RTW/editor/022602/ A photograph of Warren appears on the last frame of the final page.

Noronha has been featured extensively in these columns as he has been described in the media as a Goan but until now I did not have much information about him.

He was born in 1975 in Nairobi, Kenya, the son of Albert and Shelley (nee George) Noronha. His father worked for Cable and Wireless and later for the Voice of America (American Embassy). He was a member of the Goan Institute and a founder member of the sports/social/music group 'The Pschedelics'. He is currently at Sussex University, e-mail: a.b.noronha@sussex.ac.uk

Warren was at St. Mary's School in Westlands, Nairobi until he was aged 8 and moved to Brighton with his family, including brothers Neil (b.1977) and Geoffrey (b. 1983). He attended Cardinal Newman School in Brighton before going on to the St. Martins College of Art & Design. His early preferences were for African 'makonde' art, early Indian paintings and Van Gogh.

Designer Antonio Berardi appointed him Head assistant and after 4 years there he felt confident enough to be able to design under his own label. His first show was heralded by the Press as the 'next Alexander McQueen' and the future of British Fashion.

Brother, Neil is an Account Executive for a Transaction Marketing firm in London. Brother Geoff hopes to go to University later this year.
