I received a cutting from an anonymous source of an article from The Universe 21 Apr., which refers to Fr Huebert Miranda of Sacred Heart Church, Wootton Bassett, Wilts., celebrating the Silver Jubilee of priesthood. The article dwelt on his success in transforming the Church building and the Parish into a vibrant Community. He was born in Mombasa in 1951 and went to the Star of the Sea and Sacred Heart Schools there. He came to England in 1966 and was ordained 11 years later. His mother lives in Streatham, London.

Cliff Pereira was invited by the Families in British India Society (FIBIS) to write an article about how best to search for Goan roots. Harvey de Souza is a native of Bombay, India, and began musical studies at the age of four with his father. He was awarded a scholarship to attend the Yehudi Menuhin School in England, where he studied with Mr. Menuhin…he has performed extensively throughout Europe, the U.S., China, and India… and has participated in numerous festivals… Harvey de Souza has also led the Academy in performing the music score of From Hell the movie about Jack the Ripper starring Johnny Depp. To order a copy, see: http://www.moviewave.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/titles/from_hell.html

21 Apr. The Baltimore Sun. All the four children of Amrut and Saroj Shirodkar have qualified as doctors in the nearby Univ. of Maryland. He and his wife worked long hours running a convenience store… They lived in a rural enclave in western India, not far from Goa, when it was a Portuguese province. Proficiency in Portuguese was required to pass fifth grade… Amrut Shirodkar trained as a printer and found a government job in Uganda.
