The Goanet-UK appeal raised GBP1598 in appreciation of the efforts of Joel D’Souza. The proceeds were used to buy a Sony Digital camcorder, model DCR-PC 120 for UKP1192 and the balance towards upgrades for his PC. The camcorder was presented to Joel by Tony Correia-Afonso, at the World Wide Goans Convention, Goa, 29 Dec.

28 Dec. Western Morning News. Sue and Colin Russell, members of Saltash Lions Club, are setting off for India to help restore the sight of 150 blind people. The first leg of their journey will be to Goa, taking with them a large amount of excess baggage, courtesy of Monarch Airlines. They will finish up in Goa for a month spent relaxing on the beach and a spot of fishing. "But no doubt the local Lions of Candolim will have dreamed up some more events for us to attend." Said Colin. They are taking supplies including 2,000 pens on their Indian journey.

In that sub-continent, cows have complete freedom of where they want to be and nobody can push them around. When I saw this, it struck me as funny that this cow wanted to be at the Indian Ocean eating fruit peelings out of a beer box.
