Financial
Times; Jul 3. By Michael Skapinker, Management Editor.
Three
years after the Public Interest Disclosure Act came into force,
52 per cent of the 281 organisations surveyed had formal whistleblowing
policies. The act provides protection against victimisation for
staff who raise concerns about their companies' behaviour. In
the first successful claim, Antonio Fernandes won £293,441
compensation in 2000 after being sacked as finance director of
Netcom Consultants. Mr Fernandes reported his managing director
to the parent company for claiming £316,000 in unauthorised
expenses. [Details of the case (Antonio Fernandes of Calcot, Reading),

in the choir when Strang went berserk. She said: "It's very
frightening to know he's out, especially after he attacked all
those innocent and defenceless people. He's not even served two
years. He should have been treated for a lot.” See: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=11996315&method=full&
siteid=50143 On the same day the Sun quoted Noella Gonsalves
as saying, "He should have been locked up forever."
Noella told the Evening Standard, "He's not even served two
years. In my opinion he should be put away for life - like the
judge said at the trial."

project of sorts and the idea of the Palliative Care Centre was
an ideal goal for them, Braganza noted. To reach Cheryl Braganza,
