Surgeon Alban Barros D'Sa is retiring from the NHS next week.
A party is being held for him in the social club of Walsgrave
Hospital next Wednesday. Following a suspension, Mr Barros D'Sa
returned to work in July last year after a huge public campaign,
with 8,000 people signing a petition for his reinstatement. He
was allowed back to work following two High Court cases, which

The season's first rave party, held in Vagator, last week, was
stopped by the Goa Police at about 1.15 am. The party had been
attended by around 200 persons, most of who were foreigners. Speculation
is rife that the Bali carnage could be repeated in Goa. Holiday
cancellations are not unexpected.

A year ago a woman urinated in the office of the Margao Municipal
inspector after futile complaints regarding the pathetic and unhygienic
conditions of the public toilets. She was arrested and has just
been found guilty and fined Rs 500. She refused to pay so she
was sent to jail for 14 days. Two days later she was persuaded

9 Oct. Mordialloc Chelsea News (Melbourne). Taj on South which
opened in July this year is owned by Oscar and Hazel Lobo. "My
wife has always had a passion for cooking. It is part of our culture,"
Mr Lobo said. The Lobos are from Goa

Goa dealership is to hit the UK market by December this year and
then launched across Europe and Japan, Malta and Malaysia The
Reva is a two-door hatchback that can seat two adults and two

the seething lanes of Margao's daily market, housewives bargained
for 16 varieties of rice, coconut milk sweets, rat traps, bird
cages and painted wooden baby-walkers. The air was heavy with
spices, sweet with sandalwood, glittery with columns of glass
bangles. Her conclusion? "Nice try, Lord Lloyd-Webber; but

Kenyan television station to use VSAT technology to broadcast
its signal via satellite. The firm's Managing Director, Mr Ian
Fernandes, said that initially the system will be used to deliver
