Jerry Fernandes (ex Velsao & Nairobi) celebrated, with wife Helen, his 90th birthday (12th October’04) on the 16th October 2004 at South Wimbledon, at a party given by his 5 children, Larry, Mafalda, Fenelon, Mervyn & Leonore.

Family members, grandchildren, long standing friends from far and wide and ex- neighbours from Nairobi made the occasion even more special, as did the presence of his dear friend, 99 year old Felix Rodrigues (ex Nairobi). Bonnie D’Souza, raised the toast, recalling their friendship forged at the Goan Institute Nairobi, where Jerry played Badminton and served on the G.I Committee in his younger days. He was honoured to receive over 100 cards on this milestone, as well as the loving good wishes and gifts of all who attended.

Jerry & his wife Helen, have lived in Forest Gate, London, since 1968 and have 13 grandchildren, ranging in age from 8 to 31 and with 3 of them married, this total currently stands at 16 grandchildren!
