Nation TV will tonight be re-launched
with a more exciting new look. Viewers can look forward
to an enhanced presentation and delivery of an improved
news content that has seen viewership grow steadily
for both the 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. bulletins [both times
local].
NTV
has developed new sets and studios for all its bulletins
and the addition of Julie Gichuru to the already formidable
team of Nimrod Taabu, Ephy Hunja, Sophie Ikenye, Winnie
Mukami and Jamila Mohammed is set to capture audiences
countrywide.
A
sneak preview of the re-launch was released last night
by Nation Broadcasting Division's managing director
Ian Fernandes. Mr Fernandes said: "We are introducing
new anchors, improved bulletins and new programmes.
The image, the logos, the station music and the promos
will all change. It will be a totally new experience
for viewers, revolutionary in terms of TV concepts
in this country."
Besides
the bulletin improvements, the station has lined up
a raft of new entertaining programmes to keep viewers
glued to their sets. Top of the bill will be the addition
of new local programmes, including Red Korna featuring
Reddykyulass, Kenya's most popular comedy group.
Also
expected to have a big impact will be the second series
of the popular local soap Wingu la Moto. The programme
line-up will include two brand new talk shows, Mr
Fernandes said.
The
re-launch followed a change in top management at Nation
broadcasting early this year. Leading the team is
Mr Fernandes himself, who joined the Nation Media
Group in January.
In
February, a number of top journalists joined the staff
of Nation Broadcasting Division. They included Mr
Emmanuel Juma (news manager), Mr Joe Ageyo (alternate
news editor), Ms J Gichuru (news anchor) and Mr Shabaan
Ulaya (Swahili news producer). "We are combining
the efforts of a rejuvenated team with the addition
of new members of staff to come up with an exciting,
entertaining, informative new product," Mr Fernandes
said. "Stay tuned to Nation TV from 7 tonight
to experience this transformation."
He
said the company had made huge investments in both
technology and human resources in the last few months.
The acquisition of an Outside Broadcasting Van, which
has enabled live coverage of major events, and of
VSAT technology, has greatly improved the signal distribution
and transmission.
Nation
TV is broadcast in all the major towns and their environs,
including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru,
Nyeri and Meru. |
