Canada: Alex Rodrigues’ high school team taking shot at world robotics competition


4 Apr: Calgary Herald. … “Eight months ago it was just an idea,” said team leader Alex Rodrigues. “It’s come a long ways really fast.” … Rodrigues said the group worked nearly every day for six weeks to qualify for a national tournament in Ontario last month where it faced 36 teams from across Canada and the northern United States in three-on-three play. The Calgary qualified for a world tournament in St. Louis, Mo., where teams from more than two dozen countries will face off in the last weekend of April… click here.




Jagdish Menezes leads India's triumph at Vienna International moot court


7 Apr: Times of India. Goan law student Jagdish Menezes led the Indian team to success at the world's largest and most prestigious moot court competition held in Vienna on April 5. Sing Hallelujah

The case against the NRI doctor

The Indian government is in the process of enacting laws to allow doctors who hold the Overseas Citizens of India status to practise in India and even become faculty members in medical colleges… This move is obviously to woo the large number of non-resident Indian doctors in the U.S. and the United Kingdom… The western world is coming up with stricter requirements for doctors to maintain certification like ongoing periodic examinations and continuing medical education.
